This is the first time I have heard about Aliro CMS. I have developed a lot of custom sites using Joomla, and am learning Drupal now. I will look into Aliro. Glad to see a lot more is being developed in PHP than the ones I knew of.

I've never heard of the Aliro CMS until now either.
I've grown accustomed to using Joomla for my CMS sites, but I am now going to try this one out.
I biggest problem I've had using Joomla is slow load time. If Aliro doesn't have that problem, than I will certainly switch.

Aliro is faster and generally less resource hungry than Joomla. There will be a new beta release very soon, probably before Tuesday 26 May 2009.

Aliro can handle Mambo or Joomla extensions. However, they do say on the site that not all old Joomla extensions will work and best results are achieved by adhering to Aliro's standards.
Any extension that runs on global scope will not work because nothing runs on global scope in Aliro.
If you're dead set on using a Joomla extension, I've found that it's not difficult to find someone to modify it so that it will work in Aliro, or you can do it yourself if you know how.

Thank you!! I worked for Landor Associates for several years and I always wanted to know what hrsaccount Walter was like. I especially liked the part where he spoke about the "fear of failure". His legacy still inspires me everyday.
