  • Yeah this was a great write up, it will be interesting to see where semantic markup goes in the future, as CSS is an ever developing language, and with integration of AJAX and Ruby there is an open door of potential waiting to be filled.
  • In terms of the integration of web resources, one of the BEST new methods for implementing standardized code and displaying it realtime, would be the AJAX formset. Coders have much more flexibility these days and it is showing with the latest web apps.
  • I see this moving more towards three tier application development
  • First of all I must admit that I am not a php guru like your are but still I have my point of view on that question. I think you are right that CSS has to majors purposes and that it may bring problems. However, there has been a lot of major improvements in that domain and I think that we should not be worried about it.
  • Its now nearly exactly 5 years ago I started to design my sites with CSS. With AJAX I m not so experienced but I also see an interting development in combination.
  • When i first started in development CSS was one of the few things you could use to create dynamic content but now-a-days with all the extenstions available web programming is certainly becoming more challenging than ever before.
  • I agree with "games" on this one. It is giving more flexibility in sense that you could do a lot more now in terms of better designing than you could 8 years ago but then the competition is also growing. Interesting , thought provoking article.
  • CSS is a good However, I prefer to use xsl file. It's particle because i am much more familiar with the latter one. Great Articlethough.
  • Nowadays there are so many tools to design web pages. Plus the visual effects become more and more astonishing. With respect to CSS, it is certainly not perfect but quite good for me. But I a not a web design guru.
Thank you for the detailed explanation.
  • I believe semantic markup is the way of the future in terms of classifying pages to search engines better. Great article, will bookmark this and pass onto the members at WMW
  • Thanks for your article. I prefer css for webdesign and I like it. There are so much changes for css in future in combination with other cool web resources. I think we go in a very great internet-future. Lets make it :o)
Sorry for my bad english - my german is better ;o)
  • Semantic markup is definately the way to go - otherwise you give se's too much code to wad through...
  • Great Article - Defo the way forward.
  • I´m not a specialist in PHP, so I use a Markup Generator that is a simple tool created for xhtml/css coders.
It helps me a lot to speed up my work by generating xhtml markup and a css frame out of very intuitive, shortened syntax so I can jump directly to the elements styling.

    Great post!
    I´ve already subscribed the feeds!
    Thanks.
  • The question might spark a good conversation, but I’m assuming that at its essence it’s not suggesting that this is truly a viable option across the board…?
  • thanks for your article. I dont love css... but it is the future ;)
